Selection parameters change with the duty: pressure class, end connection, body material and operator decide whether a valve can go on the line. Below are the four common duty cycles with the points to check — match them item by item when you request a quote.

High-pressure, hydrocarbon service — specify trunnion-mounted ball valves or gate valves, and check fire-safe, anti-static and venting features against API 6D and API 607.

Where pressure fluctuates and the medium carries solids, butterfly and gate valves are common, from DN50 to DN1200, with Class 150/300 pressure ratings.

Frequent cycling and emergency shutdown duty calls for API 607 fire-safe, anti-static trunnion ball valves, with lever, gear or pneumatic operators and RF or RTJ flanges as specified.

For corrosive media, select F316 or duplex bodies and confirm flange, stem and sealing details for each duty; spare parts can be supplied as a complete set from DN50 to DN1200.

Cooling water service needs long continuous run time and low maintenance — match head, motor power and material, usually with gear operators on flanged or threaded ends.
Type, size, pressure class, body material, connection and actuation are enough for a first quotation; drawings and inspection plans are welcome.
